About the Triple Celebration

2023 was the 850th anniversary of the birth of Shinran Shonin, the founder of the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist tradition.

This year is the 800th anniversary of the establishment of the Jodo Shinshu teaching and the 135th anniversary of the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii.

The Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii has combined all celebrations together and observe commemorative services and workshops: The Triple Celebration.
