Our annual Bon Dance & the 11th Annual Mō‘ili‘ili Summer Fest is quickly approaching. Please save the dates! Mō‘ili‘ili Summer Fest will be having a Sneak Peek Preview event on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm (same location as the Mō‘ili‘ili Summer Fest). It is an opportunity for attendees to stop by for special edition collaboration merchandise from local businesses and purchase various foods such as Andagi (Okinawan donuts) and Flying Saucers (a Kauai specialty). 

On Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 5:00pm – 10:00pm will be the 11th annual Mō‘ili‘ili Summer Fest, Honolulu’s largest Bon Dance which includes a street festival featuring a diversity of local food vendors, artisans, retailers and cultural entertainment.

Volunteers are needed. Also seeking monetary donations

There are several easy ways you can help! In order for this event to be successful, we heavily rely on volunteers. No prior experience is necessary and help is needed in all areas. Tasks include: behind the scenes working at the temple, set up/ cleanup, parking attendants, working in the concession/retail booths, and more. Please sign up today!

We are actively seeking monetary donations. Your donation will help offset expenses especially in our concession booth. There are several easy ways to donate to the temple: Cash, Check, Credit Card and Paypal. Please contact the temple office and make your donation today!

Bon Dance Practices

Join us on June 3, June 10, June 17 (All Mondays) for Bon Dance Practice at Mō‘ili‘ili Hongwanji Mission (902 University Ave.), in the social hall from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Our retail pop-up opens at 6:00pm. Limited parking on premises so come early!Brush up on those dance moves. First timers are welcomed too. Open to the public. Purchase Bon Dance merchandise and get ready for the season! See you there!
