Moiliili Bon Dance & Summer Fest Volunteers Needed

Meals will be provided for all volunteers

ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST SIGN IN AND READ LIABILITY (DO NOT SIGN IN FOR OTHERS) For safety reason, ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST WEAR COVERED SHOES. FOOD PREP: COVERED SHOES & HEAD COVERING (hairnet & hats). LONG HAIR MUST BE TIED. APRON is optional for all volunteers

Aloha Everyone! It’s that time once again, BON DANCE. It is coming at us quickly and again we would like everyone’s help. If you, your friends, or family can put in some time to help the Moiliili Hongwanji. The dates for the Bon Dance and Summer Fest are July 5 and 6. Please see below for duties and times. You can sign up at the temple office.

Wednesday, July 3

MEAT STRINGING

Measure, weigh, and string meat on stick
Time:
1st shift: 11am to 4pm
2nd shift: 4pm to 8pm
Volunteers Needed: 20 to 25

Thursday, July 4

MEAT STRINGING

Continue from Wed
Time:
1st shift: 11am to 4pm
2^nd shift: 4pm to 8pm
Volunteers needed: 20 to 25

YAGURA & TENT SET UP

Load and Unload supplies & electrical
Set up lights for tents & yagura
Banner set up

Time: 2pm to 6pm
Volunteers Needed: 6 to 8 including Electrician

Friday, July 5

SET UP CREW

Put up banners & lights
Load and unload supplies
Set up concession tables
Set up retail tables
Set up chairs by the yagura (2^nd shift)
Set up trash bags and trash bins around the event (2^nd shift)

Time:
1^st shift (8am to 12:30PM) meet at temple
2^nd shift (Noon to 5pm) meet at Varsity
Volunteers Needed: 8 to 10 per shift

MOCHI MAKING

Time: 12pm to 4pm
Volunteers Needed: 15 to 20

SPAM MUSUBI & RICE MAKING

help make rice
cut and cook spam
assemble & wrap

Time: 3pm
Volunteers Needed: 15 to 20

KITCHEN HELP & LUNCH

Provide lunches for morning/afternoon volunteers
- Time: 10am to 1pm
- Volunteers Needed per shift: 4 to 6
Help with any prep work
Clean up / wash dishes

Time:
1^st shift 11am to 2pm
2^nd shift 3pm to 6pm
3^rd shift 8pm to 11pm
Volunteers Needed per shift: 4 to 6

CONCESSION SET UP

set up water for pots
Load & unload equipment/supplies
Set up grill
Set up food line

Time: 1:30pm to 4:00pm
Volunteers needed: 6 to 8

1^st Shift 4pm to 8pm
2^nd shift 7:30pm to 11:00pm

MAINTENANCE & RECYCLABLE CREW

Help with trash and recyclables
Walk around and check to make sure trash are emptied

Time: 6pm to 10:30pm
Volunteers Needed: 4 to 6

DRINK TENT

Set up Tables & chairs
Set up ice chest with ice and drinks
Take inventory before & after and during

Time:
1^st shift 2pm – 6:30pm
2^nd shift 6:30pm to 10:30pm
Volunteers needed per shift: 3 to 4

PARKING @ SHINNYO-EN

Parking attendant/security

Open gate & set up banner
Lock up gate at the end of the night
Collect donations if given

Time:
1^st shift 2pm to 7pm
2^nd shift 6:30pm to 10:30pm
Volunteers needed per shift: 4 to 5

PARKING @ VARSITY

Parking attendant/security – check parking passes

Set up and break down barricades

CLEAN UP & BREAKDOWN CREW

Help breakdown any equipment
